In December 2013, Elang Electric Vehicle officially announced that it had successfully invented a mature 2-hour fast charging technology and put it into the market, making "2-hour fast charging" a reality. As the first brand of electric vehicle in Huizhou, Elang Electric Vehicle has introduced the power system technology of BYD Electric Vehicle exclusively. It can drive 10 kilometers after charging for more than 10 minutes, which greatly facilitates people's travel, liberates people from charging, and the service life of special power battery developed by Elang with BYD is three times as long as that of ordinary battery. Since then, the majority of electric car owners travel is no longer restricted. So far, it marks that China's electric vehicle industry has entered a two-hour fast charging era. [3]
Mobile phone industry
Fast charging of mobile phones can be divided into three categories: VOOC flash charging technology, Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging technology and Pump Express Plus fast charging technology.
Fast Charging Technology: VOOC Flash Charging
There are two main ways to improve charging speed: one is to increase the voltage, the other is to increase the current. Increasing the voltage will increase the calorific value in the charging process, accelerate the aging of batteries and may bring potential safety hazards, so the actual effect is not good. In contrast, increasing the current is more realistic. VOOC flash charging technology adopts low voltage and high current mode, which ensures the safety of charging process.
VOOC flashing charges for 5 minutes and 2 hours, and charging for 30 minutes can charge the cell phone from 0% to 75%. [4]
On February 23, 2016, OPPO in Barcelona, Spain, presented its latest black technology at the 2016 World Mobile Communications Congress (MWC 2016), which mainly includes the latest achievements in fast charging and image technology - OPPO VOOC super flash charging and Smart Sensor image chip anti-shake technology, OPPO VOOC super flash charging 15 minutes full of one. The 2500mA mobile phone charges for 5 minutes and calls for 10 hours.
Fast charging technology: Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0
Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology is an upgraded version of Quick Charge 1.0, which adopts a new specification. The charging speed can be improved by increasing the current and voltage simultaneously.
Fast Charging Technology: Pump Express Plus
Pump Express, a new fast charging technology of the United Development Section, is built into PMIC's power management integrated circuit. The charger is allowed to determine the initial voltage required for charging according to the current, and the pulse current command is sent by PMIC to the charger through Vbus of USB. The charger adjusts the output voltage according to this command, and the voltage gradually increases to as high as 5V to reach the maximum charging current. [1]
